Although our blogs have been mostly focused on wellness and antiaging, and the services and modalities at The Queens Med Spa that can help you in your wellness journey, there have been some posts, that have reflected lifestyle and new chapters in our lives, and have delved into the importance of taking care of our minds and bodies, so that we can continue our graceful journey of aging.
One of the blogs we posted was about our sons journey to his first year of University and how Lisa and I were embracing the change and coping with this new chapter.
What surprised us is how many of our lovely customers, patients and blog readers came to us and asked us..... how is your son doing ? Totally unexpected, and it was so beautiful to hear from all of you and it was amazing that we could continue to share a part of our lives with our Queens family.
Lisa and I would like to thank all of you for your lovely comments and this is the main reason, we wanted to continue sharing this journey and transition with you in another blog.
As we settle into the rhythm of our son’s first year at university, it feels like a whirlwind of emotions. Each day brings new challenges, not just for him but for our whole family. Our once lively home now echoes with the silence of his absence, and we can feel his longing for the familiar comforts of home.
Even our pug Hugo is having a hard time adjusting to our son's absence :)
It’s been heart-wrenching to witness our son grapple with questions about his future and where he truly belongs. The excitement of university life often collides with moments of anxiety and uncertainty. He misses us, and we miss him. It’s a tough adjustment for all of us, and there are days when the weight of it feels almost unbearable.
As parents, our instinct is to support him through this transition. However, we’ve come to realize that our ability to be there for him hinges on how well we take care of ourselves. In the midst of this emotional rollercoaster, our health has become paramount. We’ve been prioritizing not just physical fitness and diet, but also mental well-being. The incredible modalities at The Queens Med Spa have truly helped us get through these periods of stress and anxiety.
It’s easy to get caught up in the desire to look good on the outside, but we’ve learned that true wellness comes from nurturing our insides—our mental, emotional, and physical health. Regular ozone sauna and red light treatments and a balanced diet have helped us cope with stress, allowing us to better support our son during this pivotal time in his life.
We haven't' yet taken advantage of our IV treatments but that will be added to our wellness routine in the very near future. We understand from our medical team that the benefits are amazing, and we are hearing the same things from our IV clients.
This journey has underscored a crucial lesson: we can’t take care of our children if we don’t take care of ourselves first. So, while our son navigates his path, we’re focusing on our own well-being, reminding ourselves that self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential.
As we move forward, we hope to foster open communication with our son, helping him navigate his feelings while also ensuring that we are the healthiest versions of ourselves. After all, this transition isn’t just about him; it’s about all of us growing together, even from a distance.
Thank you again for being part of our journey !!!
